Richard Cohen appointed new Managing Director for Confidia North America

Confidia AG has promoted Mr. Richard Cohen from his position as Chief Investment Officer in Bangkok to become its new Managing Director for North America. He will be based in Atlanta, Georgia, America’s fintech hub, known as “Transaction Alley.”

Established in Switzerland in1971, Confidia has been operating in financial services for the past 50 years. During 2021 Confidia AG plans to significantly expand its global payments business.

Upon graduating with a Master’s degree in International Relations from UCSD, Richard entered the field of institutional stock brokerage and investment banking, working for several of the top-ranked banks in Japan and Southeast Asia. After 15 years in the financial markets, Richard pivoted toward entrepreneurial and managerial roles in several start-ups, ranging from fintechs, to non-profits, to sustainability companies.

Previously a consultant to Cameron McKean, Confidia’s CEO, when he was establishing Club Barter four years ago, Richard rejoined Cameron in a full-time role to assist in taking Confidia public. He will maintain this responsibility in addition to spearheading Confidia’s North American strategy.

Confidia has already serviced more than 1.8 million users of its e-wallet facility. With recent technical upgrades and a growing global footprint, Confidia is poised for exponential growth.
